Hello Amateurs, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas out there in Amateur Rugby World. Think of all your professional cousins who had to abstain from the mince pies and glasses of sherry!
A lot of clubs play an internal club fixture this time of year – Young uns VS Old uns – or some other variation. If you are one of these clubs then I hope the game was played in the right spirit and you had a good Christmas booze-up afterwards!
I’d love to hear about some of your Christmas rugby traditions. What do you do that makes your game special? Write in at hello@amateurrugbypodcast.com
And, if you’re at a club that doesn’t have a regular intra-club fixture at Christmas, why don’t you think about starting one next year – it really is a great way to build bonds within the club and make more memories.
I’ve got some absolutely banging interviews for you coming up in the New Year. We go in-depth on subjects like:
Men’s mental health
Player welfare
Coaching
Club culture
Player pathways and of course, plenty of fun stories along the way.

Now, if you listened to my short Christmas episode, you’ll know that I’ve personally gotten a lot out of producing the podcast so far. But I’d really like to help you as well.
I’ve been a professional web developer for over 20 years building countless sites for many happy clients. I would love to do the same for you too. If you need a website or you hear of someone who does, I would be very grateful if you think of me and get in touch so we can have a quick chat about how I can help you. You can contact me via email hello@amateurrugbypodcast.com or via Twitter or Facebook @amrugbypodcast.
The rugby community is a wonderfully supportive, helpful place, so if you’ve enjoyed the podcast so far and you think other people you know might like it too, I’d be incredibly grateful for any social media exposure, and ratings and reviews on Apple Podcasts – it really does help get the podcast to a wider audience which in turn helps me keep it going!
So, lastly, have an incredible 2020 and do everything you can to keep our great game flourishing. Happy New Year, oh and don’t forget, if you or someone you know needs a website, please get in touch.
